I live on the big island of Luzon so my comments are based the conditions here. Major roads are clearly marked and many of the smaller villages which are ubiquitous, are shown. The map itself is made from some type of plastic that seems quite strong and will resist the frequent downpours during the rainy season. This is a must if you are planning to travel the PI (which I highly recommend). If you think Google Maps will suffice, you are mistaken. I will order two more. One to glue onto my wall as the map is printed on two sides. The other to take with when traveling. This, with a Garmin should suit a trek quite nicely. Thanks!
Yes, it is a map of the Philippines.Not really detailed enough to very useful in any particular area. Not sure what adventures you could actually rely on this map for as nothing is really big enough to see much detail.It is a well made map, waterproof, durable, and printed clearly.I used it on a trip that included Boracay, and sailing to Palawan. There is tons to do and explore in Palawan, almost none of it represented here. There are some vague diver icons on the map over a very small subset of extremely well known dive spots. Nothing you wouldn't figure out within 10 minutes of arriving in an area and arranging a tour. And if you were doing it on your own, you'd never make it on this map alone.
Paper and print quality and content are great, something I expected from National Geoographic. However, I do not like how the country is split in two: the northern half on one side, the southern half on the reverse. I wanted to be able to see see the entire country at once.
Very usable map. It's made out of a material that is waterproof and very durable. The detail level is what I would expect from this scale (i.e. The Philippines vs a Topo Map of a single Island, for example). I used this extensively to plan routes and will use it again in the future. The first trip shows almost no wear and tear at all.

A good map of the country. Is both detailed and seems likely to hold up well. If you are looking for a map of this country this would be a good one.
I bought this map for a planned trip to the Philippines. While I wish it showed more of the smaller towns on it, the quality of it and the material it's printed on will make a great reference source and conversation piece with the locals.
