This book is the second in a series. It really spans time from the Templar knights through modern times. It is very engaging. I especially enjoyed the parts involving ancient Native American tribes such as the Cohokians. A very entertaining read.

Where Angels Dare is a 3 book series.The Sacrist - book I... Race for the Lance - book II... and The Lance Bearers - book III. In order to to appreciate the story - you need to read all three. I spend so much time reading e-mails and documents that I seldom read books. This series really caught me. I started on one - and couldn't stop until I finished all three. This imaginary journey really takes you on a ride where make-believe meets history... in a Da Vinci Code code kind of way... spanning the ages, from the Templar nights to present day. I saw some other reviews on book I, talking about spelling, etc. One was pretty cutting - and that one prompted me to write this review. The story is awesome, the characters are really well developed and the twist between fantasy and history was really well done. I didn't get the books to proof read them - or to hack on someone for spelling issues - I got them because they took me on a journey through the ages and were very entertaining. What a ride!
Of the author's trilogy, Race for the Lance was the most difficult to follow. It fits within the trilogy, though, and changed pace to bring my attention back at the right time. I'd recommend the entire trilogy, reading from book one first is necessary.
